WHERE NETWORKING, INNOVATION AND EXHIBITION CONVERGE
EVS38 has – once again - confirmed its status as a global event for the electric mobility sector, bringing together over 10,000 visits from more than 55 countries. Held in Sweden, a leader in sustainable innovation, the symposium created strong connections between researchers, industry leaders and policymakers looking to shape the future of transport. The presence of high-level officials, including Swedish Minister for Infrastructure and Housing - Andreas Carlson, Petrouschka Werther – acting director for sustainable mobility at the Dutch Ministry, and Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Vincent Van Peteghem, underlined the event’s political relevance. With dozens of scientific sessions and an international scientific awards ceremony honouring outstanding research from the US, Germany, South Korea and Sweden, EVS38 also strengthened its role as a driving force for knowledge and research – staying true to its original mission.
EVS38 REINFORCES ITS GLOBAL STANDING
2025’s edition proved to be a central meeting point for global collaboration on electric mobility. National delegations from Sweden, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Norway led participation, highlighting Europe’s dynamic role in the EV transition.
National pavilions enriched the exhibition floor, including French, Swedish, Slovenian and Dutch pavilions, among many others. With its diverse international reach and policy engagement, EVS38 helped shape the dialogue around the future of low-carbon mobility in accordance with the 2030 EU climate and energy targets.
LATEST IN E-MOBILITY UNVEILED AT EVS
On Wednesday 18th, Nissan announced the third generation of its Leaf model, inspired by Japanese aesthetics. Designed to meet global market demands, this new version is equipped with a 75 kWh traction battery, offering up to 600 km of range.
At EVS 38, heavy-duty EV charging took a major step forward with a live demonstration of the Megawatt Charging System (MCS). Daniel Schulze and Jorge Soria Galvarro from Scania Group showcased charging a heavy-duty electric truck at up to 750 kW—almost twice the speed of current CCS2 technology—allowing trucks to reach 80% charge in under 30 minutes. This next-generation, interoperable charging solution is set to transform long-haul freight by improving speed, uptime, and reliability across the commercial transport sector.
We Drive Solar presented a new way to make vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology work in everyday life. Instead of relying on private driveways, they use shared electric cars and public chargers. CEO Robin Berg showcased a Renault 5 connected to their Solar Life wallbox, the result of 10 years of work with Renault and others. The first 50 V2G-enabled cars are being launched in Utrecht, with plans to grow the fleet to 500 vehicles.
MORE THAN 400 INTERNATIONAL SPEAKERS (main stage and scientific sessions)
EVS 38 brought together top voices from around the world. The conference unfolded across four dedicated spaces—mainstage sessions, symposiums, workshops, agora and scientific presentations. The recordings of the mainstage are now available for you to watch and rewatch - here.
Wajih Hossenally, Director – EMEA Powertrain Research, S&P Global highlighted the rapid growth of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) in Europe, forecasting a 31% increase in light passenger BEV production and a 66% jump in medium and heavy-duty electric commercial vehicles for 2025. A special white paper have been created for this occasion, read it here.
