As the automotive industry accelerates its shift from combustion engines to electric vehicles, AFRY is spearheading the automation of battery production.  This innovation is key to addressing some of the industry's biggest challenges, such as enhancing battery capacity, improving efficiency, and enabling more sustainable car manufacturing. 

Enabling Scalable, Automated Battery Production 

AFRY is providing a fully automated turn-key solution, managing every stage of the process—from design and simulations to installation and commissioning. The solution streamlines the production of battery packs by introducing state-of-the-art robotics and automation for tasks like adaptation, washing, and subassembly. This not only saves time and reduces costs but also allows for greater scalability and production flexibility to meet future market demands. 

Collaboration for Innovation 

Collaboration is the key to the project's success. AFRY is working closely with Modig Machine Tool AB to implement advanced techniques like gigacasting, simplifying the assembly of the battery box components while cutting costs. Together, AFRY and Modig are supporting the automotive industry's move towards electrification and setting the stage for the green transition. 

Pioneering the Green Transition 

This automated production system increases efficiency and minimises errors, allowing electric motors to fully showcase their energy efficiency, with up to 83% of energy converted into propulsion. By focusing on flexible and scalable solutions, AFRY ensures that manufacturers can quickly adapt production lines for future electric vehicle demands, all while contributing to the fight against climate change.
